Riviera Glass House

Designed by a Los Angeles studio and completed in 2019, the Riviera Glass House steps down its hillside lot in three volumes of glass, board-formed concrete and white oak. Each level has its own terrace, so the view from the Mission to Stearns Wharf and the harbor is present in nearly every room.

The main level is one continuous space: a living room with a sunken conversation pit, a kitchen with Gaggenau appliances and a 16-foot glass wall that slides away to the pool deck. A floating stair leads down to three guest suites and a family room, and up to a primary suite that cantilevers over the garden.

Below the house, a 45-foot infinity lap pool runs along the contour of the hill, with a fire lounge and native garden. The home is fully electric, with solar, two EV chargers and a Tesla Powerwall, and is a ten-minute walk to the Mission and the Rose Garden.
