Mesa Bluff Modern

Mesa Bluff Modern replaced a tired 1950s ranch house in 2021, keeping the generous lot and the ocean view while adding a clean, warm modern home. Cedar siding, dark window frames and a planted roof edge soften the architecture from the street.

The ground floor is open and bright, with a kitchen island in Calacatta quartzite and a wall of glass that folds away to a garden with a fire pit and dining table under string lights. Upstairs, three bedrooms include a primary suite with a vaulted ceiling. The roof deck looks across the Mesa to the ocean and the Channel Islands.

A permitted 560-square-foot ADU at the back of the lot has its own entry, kitchen and bath. The Mesa's cafés, Shoreline Park and Mesa Lane stairs to the beach are all within a short walk.
